Collection: MADUNA

From the study of ceramic and cement flooring, widespread in private buildings and churches between the 17th and 19th centuries, the “MADUNA” line of handcrafted jewelry was born. At the center of the research are majolica. The term Maiolica has Spanish origins, Maiorca, and indicates a tile , often hand-painted. During the period of Spanish rule, Sicilian artisans perfected the production techniques and decorative designs, leading majolica to be appreciated and requested throughout the Mediterranean. Among the majolica that cover Sicilian architecture, many are of Neapolitan origin, the “riggiole”.
